Arab Interparliamentary Union Emphasises the Sanctity of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Presidency of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) issued a statement on 21 August 2024, on the occasion of the 55th commemoration of the burning of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, expressing strong condemnation and denunciation of Zionist extremism, racism and barbarism which persist to this day, as Israel continues to commit genocide against the Palestinian people.

The statement issued by H.E. Mr. Brahim BOUGHALI, President of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union and Speaker of the People's National Assembly of Algeria, stated that AIPU condemns in the strongest and most severe terms the barbaric and criminal practices carried out by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians and their land, underlining the need to confront these practices by all possible means, in full belief in the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the sanctity of its sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Arab Interparliamentary Union also called on the international community to take urgent action to protect the freedom and dignity of the people and protect the holy places from the ongoing aggressions, stressing the importance of undertaking effective measures to guarantee the rights of the Palestinians to achieve their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
