The PUIC Secretary General Urges the Ummah to Defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque against the Occupation

H.E. Mr Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, the Secretary General of the PUIC, urged the Islamic Ummah to confront to the ongoing violations of the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by the usurper Zionist entity, through continuous incursions into the mosque's courtyards by Zionist settler gangs together with officials from the occupation government, desecrating the sanctuary of the mosque, and preventing the mosque's community from performing their prayers.

This is taking place on the 55th commemoration of the attempt to burn Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Zionist enemy, which took place on 21 August 1969 and which damaged a third of the mosque's area and destroyed many of its belongings.

The anniversary of this heinous crime against the Al-Aqsa Mosque comes as a provocation to the feelings of Muslims at a time when the Palestinian people and the steadfast population of Gaza, in particular, are experiencing a genocide unprecedented in human history.

Amid the inability of the international community to stop the genocidal war in Gaza, the occupation authorities are seizing this opportunity to implement their malicious plans to Judaise the whole city of Al-Quds and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, by imposing a new status quo of spatial and temporal division of the Mosque between Muslims and Jews, a plan which which no Muslim will accept.

The Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States, which considers the city of Al-Quds, with Al-Aqsa Mosque at its heart, a red line for Muslims, urges the Ummah to stand firmly in the face of the enemy's plans, by fully supporting the Palestinian people to protect the holy sites, liberate their land and establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
