The banquet was attended, in addition to the Algerian delegation, by a delegation from Islamic Parliament of Iran, and a delegation from the Foreign Ministry of Iran, as well as ambassadors and diplomats of Islamic States accredited to Tehran.

H.E. the PUIC Secretary General delivered a speech welcoming, at the outset, the honorable guest, H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Boughali and his delegation.

He recalled the success achieved by the previous PUIC Conference in Algiers. He stressed that his fruitful talks with the PUIC President will have a great importance on effectuating the resolutions of the Conference and the development of its work mechanisms.

He also welcomed the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, underlining and evaluating the support which the General Secretariat receives from the Parliament of Iran. He also welcomed the delegation of the Foreign Ministry of Iran.

His Excellency thanked the ambassadors and diplomats of the Islamic world who attended the party, affirming his keenness to enhance PUIC relations with the parliaments of their respective countries.

H.E. Dr. Abolfazl Amouei, Head of the Islamic Parliament of Iran to the PUIC, commended, in his speech, the good existing relations between the Algerian Parliament and the Islamic Parliament of Iran, and stated that the talks between the two sides addressed developing PUIC work, as well as the issue of insulting Islam and Muslims in some European countries and how to confront it.

In the finale of the party, H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, Speaker of the National People’s Assembly of Algeria, underlined his happiness to be present at the PUIC Headquarters. He thanked H.E. the Secretary General for the good performance of the General Secretariat, and its persistent action to realize the PUIC objectives. He referred to the necessity of activating and enhancing the PUIC role in order to face the vilification of Islam and Muslims in some regions of the world. He also stated that PUIC members are seeking to establish a word characterized by respect of human rights.

Following his arrival in Tehran, on 20 August 2023, H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, President of the National People’s Assembly of Algeria, and PUIC President paid a visit to the PUIC Headquarters in Tehran, and met with H.E. Mr. Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, PUIC Secretary General, who offered him information about the General Secretariat.

He also provided Mr. Boughali with proposals on activating the PUIC role. The PUIC President stressed the importance of widening the PUIC circle to include more members and observers. He requested action for whatever will facilitate the work of the Union and increase its effectiveness.

The meeting was attended by members of the accompanying Algerian delegation and the assistants of the Secretary General.
