The Executive Committee of the PUIC held its 30th Meeting in Baku, Republic of Azerbaijan, on Wednesday 19th June 2013.
The Meeting, which was convened in response to the kind invitation of H.E. Mr. Oqtay S. Asadov, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, was attended by all members of the Committee except His Excellency the representative of the National Assembly of Benin.
At the outset, H.E. Mr. Dhiafat Askarov, Deputy-Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, welcomed the attendees, and underscored the role of regional and international organizations in enhancing bilateral relations between their respective States and Parliaments.
His Excellency the PUIC Secretary General made a brief presentation of his report which included, inter alia, activities of the PUIC General Secretariat.
Then the members proceed to discuss the eleven items of the Agenda and took decisions thereon.
At the conclusion of the proceedings the members sent a cable of thanks and gratitude to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and His Excellency the Speaker of the National Assembly for the generous hospitality, the warm reception and the excellent preparations made for the meeting.
