REPORT OF THE 1st SESSION OF THE STANDING SPECIALIZED COMMITTEE ON POLITICAL AFFAIRS AND FOREIGN RELATIONS

KHARTOUM – REPUBLIC OF THE SUDAN

  1.  The Standing  Specialized Committee on Political Affairs and Foreign Relations held its 1st  Meeting in Khartoum, Republic of Sudan, on 18 – 19 January 2013, under the chairmanship of the Committee Rapporteur, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Faisal Abu Shahla, representative of the State of Palestine
  2.  The Meeting was attended by their Excellencies:

Arab Group:
-    H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Wahsh, Representative of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
-    H.E.Mr. Khaled Musmar, Representative of State of Palestine
-    H.E.Mr. Abderrahmane Ould Mine, Representative of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania
-    The Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic was absent.

ASIAN GROUP
-    H.E. Dr KadhamJalali, Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
-    H.E.Mr.  SidartoSubrato, Representative of the Republic of Indonesia.
-    H.E. Dr AmrallahIshar, Representative of the Republic of Turkey.
-    The Representative of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was absent

AFRICAN GROUP
-    H.E.Mr. Sacca Lafia, Representative of the Republic of Benin.
-    H.E.Mr. Hamadou Sali, Representative of the Republic of Cameroun.
-    H.E.Mr. Mohamed Diasso, Representative of the Burkina Faso
-    The Representative of the Republic of Gabon was absent.

The Meeting was also attended by Representatives of the following Parliaments as observers:

3. The Democratic People Republic of Algeria, Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of Lebanon, State of Libya, Republic of Mali, Malaysia, Kingdom of Morocco, Republic of Senegal, Republic of Somalia, Republic of Uganda, Republic of Yemen.

4. H.E. Professor Erol Kilic, PUIC Secretary General represented the General Secretariat.  H.E. welcomed the members of the Committee.

5. The Meeting reviewed the agenda and discussed its 22 Political Affairs and Foreign Relations. The discussion included interventions by the Members which finally resulted in the adoption of the attached 24 resolutions which are submitted to the august PUIC Conference

6. The meeting also reviewed the draft Rules of Procedures of the Committee on Palestine. After they introduction of the necessary amendments the draft Rules of Procedures was adopt. The draft will be submitted to the august Conference.
