The General Secretariat of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States presents its compliments to all the august Member Parliaments and with reference to its Note No. MP-122IPU/10-064 of 15^th February, 2010 regarding the Agenda of the Consultation Meeting of the Islamic Group along the side lines of the 122^nd Assembly of the IPU, has the honour to attach the revised Draft Agenda for the said meeting.

            The PUIC General Secretariat while enclosing the revised draft Agenda would like to inform that the PUIC had requested the IPU to arrange the PUIC Consultation Meeting of the Islamic Group on 27th March, 2010. The IPU informed that On Saturday, 27 March, the main informal meetings room was already fully booked for meetings of the six official geopolitical groups which meet on the occasion of each IPU statutory Assembly, as per the IPU Statutes and Rules and therefore were unable to arrange the meeting on 27th March and therefore arranged the meeting for 28th March, 2010 at 10.30 to 13.00 hours.

            The General Secretariat of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States avails itself of this opportunity to renew to all the august Member Parliaments, the assurances of its highest consideration.

2.         Brief by the Secretary General on the meeting.

3.         Consideration of request for the inclusion of the following emergency items in the Assembly agenda:-

3.1       Israeli violations of Islamic and Christian Sanctities as well as considering the Ibrahim Mosque and Bilal Mosque Iin Al-Quds as part of Jewish Heritage. (Proposed by Arab Group during the 16^th Session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Meeting in Cairo on 2-4 March, 2010).

3.2       Syrian Golan which is under occupation since the past Century in 1967, and the suffering of its people. (To be proposed by the Arab Group as mentioned in the letter of the People’s Assembly of the Syrian Arab Republic)

4.         Adopting a unified position regarding issues of common concern for the Islamic Group on the following Agenda Items of the 122^nd Assembly Meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union:-

4.1       Suggestions of subject items by the Islamic Group for the 124th Assembly and nominations of the Rapporteurs for the 124^th Assembly of IPU. (Agenda of the 122^nd Assembly of the IPU)

4.2       Cooperation and shared responsibility in the global fight against organized crime, in particular drug trafficking, illegal arms sales, human trafficking and cross-border terrorism. (Agenda of the 122^nd Assembly of the IPU)

4.3.      The role of parliaments in developing South-South and Triangular Cooperation with a view to accelerating achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. (Agenda of the 122^nd Assembly of the IPU)

4.4.      Youth participation in the democratic process. (Agenda of the 122^nd Assembly of the IPU)
