Participation in these elections, considered the most important in the modern history of Turkiye, was at the rate of about (89%), domestically.
Preliminary results of the Turkish Parliamentary elections have shown that People's Alliance, led by the Justice and Development Party, has won (322) seats out of (600) seats in the Turkish Parliament. The Nation’s Alliance won (212) seats, whereas the Action and Freedom Alliance got (66) parliamentary seats.
As regards the presidential elections, the results have shown, after counting of the votes, that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has gained (49.51%), whereas his competitor Mr. Kilicdaroglu got (44.88%). The third contender Mr. Sinan Ogan got (5.17%).
Therefore, a run- off round will take place on 28 May 2023 between Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
