TEHRAN - ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN

1-    The First Meeting of the Association of Secretaries General of the OIC Member Parliaments was held in Tehran, the Capital City of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
2-    His Excellency the Secretary General of the PUIC, Professor Dr. Mahmud Erol KILIC opened the meeting with a statement in which he referred to Resolution 132 included in the final communique of the 12th Session of the PUIC Conference organized in Bamako, Republic of Mali, in January 2017. This Resolution welcomed the finalization of the rules of procedure and the elaboration of the Statute of the Association. H.E. informed the Meeting that the PUIC Secretariat General reviewed the draft submitted to the Association and sent it in its final version to the august Parliaments. Finally, H.E. wished the Meeting full success in their work.
3-    The Meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Ali Afrachte, the Secretary General of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran who welcomed the honorable members of the Association of Secretaries General. The draft Agenda was then approved.
4.    H.E. Ambassador Ali Asghar Muhammadi, the PUIC Assistant-Secretary General was the first to take the floor to inform the Meeting that the Union's Secretariat-General included the observations made by the members of the Association in the draft discussed during that meeting before submitting the final version to H.E. Mr. Allem Ali Al-Kandari, the Secretary General of the National Assembly of Kuwait, and circulating it to all the august Member Parliaments.
5.    Following interventions and observations made by the honorable Members, it was agreed as follows
6.    The Union's Secretariat-General shall circulate a note to the august Member parliaments requesting them to provide their points of view on the following topics:
6.1    Ways to develop administrative work and the transfer of administration-related experiences
6.2    Cooperation in the field of research and information technology
6.3    The role of Parliaments in approving laws and conventions
6.4    Approving the proposal of H.E. Mr. Allem Ali Al-Kandari, the Secretary General of the National Assembly of Kuwait to organizing a panel discussion on electronic equipment and smart halls which will be organized on the sideline of the next PUIC conference.
        And also welcoming the offer made by His Excellency - as the President of the Associations of the Secretaries General of the Arab Parliaments to invite three of the secretariats of the Islamic parliaments to participate in the meetings of the Association.
6.5    The Final Communique of the 13th PUIC Conference shall specify that the Rules of Procedure of the Association of Secretaries General of the OIC Member Parliaments were approved and entered into effect as of date.
